Janice

Puatwoe Janice Tieguhong was born on December 28, 1995 at Shisong, Bui Division in the
North West Region of Cameroon. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in
Economics and a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Economics all from the University of
Buea. Prior to her BSc. Degree, she obtained some MS word, excel and web browsing skills
as an ICT student at the Presbyterian Secondary School Nkwen. She has two months (July
–September 2015) experience working as an intern at the Divisional Tax Centre of Buea. She
equally has a one year (September 2016 – September 2017) experience working as a research
assistant at the Technical Training Research Centre for Development (TTRECED) Cameroon
where she authored one scientific article related to economic growth and co-authored another
related to human resource management. She also co-authored a chapter in a book titled
“Public health effects of wood fuel in Africa: Bioenergy from tree commodities as a
sustainable remedy in public health in developing countries- challenges and opportunities”. In
2019, she was honoured to be part of the South West Emerging Leaders class of the Denis &
Lenora Foretia Foundation and was as well a participant of a two days Senior
Entrepreneurship Training program organised by the Handong Global University in
partnership with UNESCO. Being in an era of environmental degradation, global warming
and other crises, she joined the Centre for Community Regeneration and Development
(CCREAD-Cameroon) as a volunteer to serve communities. At CCREAD, she is part of the
project writing and implementation team, with the 17 sustainable development goals being
her main source of inspiration.
