CCREAD-Cameroon commemorated the World Environment Day reminding all that the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breath and the climate that makes our planet habitable all comes from nature. Despite all the benefit nature gives us, our nature is increasingly facing threats from us. With this year’s theme ” *Time for Nature* ” with a focus on its role in providing the essential infrastructure that supports life on Earth and human development.World Environment Day, hosted by Colombia this 2020, is the most renowned day for environmental action taking in to considerationeverything that’s going on in the world right now. It reminds us that our livelihood depends on our environment. Human activities ranging from destruction of forest, animal trafficking, use of agro-chemicals leads to some challenges such as loss of revenues to local communities which has potentials to drive countries in to further poverty. CCREAD-Cameroon joins voices with the United Nation inviting all to focus more on conservation and restoration of forests ensuring nature’s role in sustainable development to halt biodiversity loss.
