Since from time immemorial and until date, women and children worldwide are considered as the weaker gender because of their helpless and meek nature. Meaning that they are supposed to be showered with lots of love, care and given lots of privileges. However, the reality is far from this, as they have constantly been violated.
In our society today, gender based violence is increasingly becoming rampant as each passing day, there are numerous cases of women and children being victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and ravaging torture which sometimes leads to death. The rate at which these women and children are violated is really an alarming call for concern.
These helpless women and children need a voice, that which will stand as the “voice of the voiceless”, to expose all the torture and pain they feel inside. That is why CCREAD-Cameroon, serving as the voice, is carrying out a campaign against Gender Based Violence.
